Specialty Coffee in Austin

Austin Coffee Culture

Known as the live music capital of the world, and fair enough, both times I’ve been, the timing decision for the trip has come down to a specific show to see, and yet quality specialty coffee in Austin is obviously an additional motivator for my visits (along with the BBQ). While cold coffee in Austin is deservedly found in abundance to combat the Texas sun, I am happy to report that a pour over is easy to find as well, and well worth the stop. And what better choice can you make than enjoy a delicious coffee if you’re going to be waiting in line for an hour for an equally delicious Texas BBQ lunch? Specialty coffee in Austin comes in various forms and each coffee shop has its own unique style. Find a place that piques your interest and give it a shot (of espresso)!

Proud Mary Coffee pour over station in Austin, TX

Proud Mary Coffee

Proud Mary is an Australian brand from Melbourne and also has a location in Portland, Oregon. I can definitely say I’ve never seen more Gesha coffee beans on offer in one place than I have at Proud Mary. While every varietal of specialty coffee bean deserves its time to shine, a well-roasted Gesha definitely still captures my attention and holds onto it for a very long time. For me personally, it’s something about the wild fruit notes. Don’t miss the opportunity to try one at this coffee shop in Austin!
