How to Make a Cold Brew Carajillo

Smooth, rich pick-me-up

An Introduction

The carajillo is a cocktail of Spanish origin commonly consumed in various forms in both Spain and Mexico, with a focus on coffee. This recipe modifies the typical espresso version by replacing it with cold brew. The mixture of cold brew and the Spanish liqueur Licor 43 provides a strong yet smooth experience and mouthfeel that is great as a digestif, paired with dessert or a way to start a long night.

You can of course use any bottled, boxed or otherwise store-bought cold brew, but I would definitely recommend a cold brew concentrate since you will be mixing it and in my personal opinion, diluting the coffee flavor less leads to a better drink.

For even more fun, make the cold brew concentrate yourself by following my Toddy cold brew recipe.
