It was great to see another specialty coffee shop in Ciudad Obregón serving pour over coffee. This location is somewhat more central in town and has a pleasant seating space out front for the “colder” months and excellent A/C and plenty of tables, even including a rentable conference room, for the rest of the year. I thoroughly enjoyed every specialty coffee bean I tried as a pour over at MELO and can’t wait to go back. Yet another way to wake up after the carne asada food coma from the night before.

I’ve been to my fair share of cities with a “small town vibe” and struggled majorly with finding a good cup of specialty coffee so it’s an understatement to say that I was ecstatic when I found this gem of a coffee shop in Ciudad Obregón not just making pour overs using specialty coffee beans, but doing it extremely well. Despite being so far from the regions of Mexico famous for growing coffee, the Sonora Desert is indeed a great place to brave the heat by ordering a hot drink anyway. Your taste buds will thank you.

Lúdica Terra

Considering this second location of Lúdica shares a building with a yoga studio, barre classes and a spa, as well as having a drive through, it might not be so surprising to discover that the menu is geared more towards espresso drinks and flavorings. That said, they’ve devised some creative, refreshingly cold coffee recipes to beat the heat and they’re definitely worth a visit for a great cup of specialty coffee in Obregón.
