Specialty Coffee in New York City
NYC Coffee Culture
Life moves fast in New York. Everybody knows it. And while that contributes heavily to the magic of the city for most people, it also makes it tough to slow down sometimes. For those like myself who love pour over coffee and understand that it takes time to make and is best enjoyed when not in a rush, locating that precious cup of pour over in NYC takes a bit more effort. Fortunately, it does exist and when you do find it, you are in for one hell of a treat. Surprisingly enough, this type of New York specialty coffee shop experience even exists just blocks away from the always busy Times Square in Manhattan. Simultaneously, while the vibe of Brooklyn certainly seems a more natural fit to pour over coffee culture, you still need to seek it out. But that’s the beauty of coffee in New York. If you want something in particular, you can find it.

Partners is packed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it without every seat taken up for more than a few moments. And for good reason too. The pour over coffee is top notch and the choices available rotate frequently. Add to their pour over coffee menu the best breakfast menu served up by a true coffee shop I’ve ever had and you have a recipe for a successful specialty coffee shop in New York.

St Kilda Coffee
St Kilda provides a unique New York coffee experience right around the corner from Times Square. Below street level, not shouting for attention, St Kilda is a refreshing respite from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and it is a great place to relax on a rainy day with a patiently brewed pour over coffee. The selection of specialty coffee beans is brought in from various roasters around the East Coast and is a great highlight for the melting pot that is New York.
drip coffee makers
drip coffee makers started as a coffee cart, and its meteoric rise into multiple brick and mortar New York coffee shop locations has cemented it as a fixture in the Brooklyn coffee scene. With the initial proposal of being primarily focused on pour over coffee, I of course gravitated towards the experience and visited more than once during my trip to New York. It may not be located in the most tourist-centric spots, but it is worth your time to try out this excellent coffee in NYC.
