An Introduction
The Clever coffee dripper sits somewhere between a French Press and a v60. The hybrid design between immersion and pour over results in a highly portable and safe plastic model that is just as usable in the kitchen as it is when camping. The Clever serves up a great cup of coffee with a simple brew process that is especially great for anyone just getting into the next step of making coffee at home.
*Read on to learn how to make Clever coffee the quick and easy way, without weighing or measuring anything. While the meticulous recipes used at coffee shops are incredible and in my opinion bring out the absolute best flavors from every bean and roast, and are my favorite way to drink coffee, when I’m at home making my own daily cup(s), I prefer the easy way and leave the rest to the pros at my favorite coffee shops.

What you’ll Need:
Clever coffee dripper
Clever paper filters
Clever coaster
Clever top
Whole coffee beans
Coffee grinder
Gooseneck kettle
Filtered water
Coffee mug
Instructions
Step 1
Boil 3 cups of filtered water. While you’re waiting, grind 3 ounces of coffee beans to a medium-fine level of coarseness.
Step 2
Place the Clever on the included Clever coaster. Unfold the Clever paper filter, creasing it at the fold so it stays in the Clever dripper. Lightly wet the entire filter to remove the paper taste, and dump the water afterwards.
Step 3
Place the coffee grounds into the middle of the Clever, shake the Clever to level the grounds, and create a small well in the middle of the grounds. This helps achieve the bloom upon first pour.
Step 4
Using the gooseneck kettle, slowly pour water first into the well, and slowly in an expanding circle around it until just the coffee is wet, avoiding direct water contact with the paper if possible. Wait 30 seconds while the coffee blooms.
Step 5
Slowly pour more water in circles over the grounds, but still not pouring water directly on the paper, until the Clever is full. Place the top on the Clever.
Step 6
Wait for 4 minutes, then place the Clever on top of your coffee mug. The contact mechanism allows the coffee to pour through the bottom, so wait until you the pouring sounds stops, then remove the Clever.
Step 7: Enjoy!
