An Introduction
The simple, elegant design of the Guadalupe Blanco is a sight to behold, setting it apart from the other pour over methods. Its flavor lands somewhere between that of a v60 and a Kalita Wave. The Guadalupe Blanco is made in Mexico and serves as a tribute to the fine coffee production in the country. While it only has one design with a ceramic cone resting on a three-legged wooden stand, you really don’t need much more. This is simplicity at its best.
*Read on to learn how to make Guadalupe Blanco coffee the quick and easy way, without weighing or measuring anything. While the meticulous recipes used at coffee shops are incredible and in my opinion bring out the absolute best flavors from every bean and roast, and are my favorite way to drink coffee, when I’m at home making my own daily cup(s), I prefer the easy way and leave the rest to the pros at my favorite coffee shops.

What you’ll Need:
Guadalupe Blanco
Bamboo paper filters
Whole coffee beans
Coffee grinder
Gooseneck kettle
Filtered water
Coffee mug
Instructions
Step 1
Boil 2.5 cups of filtered water. While you’re waiting, grind approximately 3 tbsp of coffee beans to a medium-fine level of coarseness.
Step 2
Place the ceramic cone of the Guadalupe Blanco into the hole in the stand so that it rests above your coffee mug. Unfold the bamboo paper filter, creasing it so it stays put in the Guadalupe Blanco. Lightly wet the entire filter. Repeat this process again since the bamboo flavor retains more paper taste than bleached white filters. Dump the water afterwards.
Step 3
Place the coffee grounds into the middle of the cone, then lift the cone up and shake to level the grounds. Create a small well in the middle of the grounds with your thumb. This helps achieve the bloom upon first pour.
Step 4
Using the gooseneck kettle, slowly pour water first into the well, and slowly in an expanding circle around it until just the coffee is wet, avoiding direct water contact with the paper if possible. Wait 30 seconds while the coffee blooms.
Step 5
Slowly pour more water in circles over the grounds, this time allowing the water to rise higher than the top level of coffee but still not pouring water directly on the paper, until the Guadalupe Blanco’s cone is above halfway full of water. Allow the water to filter through.
Step 6
Once again, slowly pour water in circles over the grounds, allowing the water to rise until the ceramic cone is more than 3/4 full of water, while again avoiding the filter itself. Allow the water to filter through, then remove the paper filter full of grounds and throw away, as well as quickly rinse the Guadalupe Blanco ceramic cone and allow to dry.
Step 7: Enjoy!
